Total Time: 75 mins
Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 28.00 oz San Marzano Tomatoes (Canned, whole, peeled)
  • 0.25 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 3.00 cloves Garlic (Thinly sliced)
  • 1.00 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 0.50 cup Fresh Basil (Roughly chopped) Sweet Basil
  • 1.00 tsp Salt (Or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook gently for 30 seconds until fragrant, ensuring it does not brown.
  2. Pour in the canned tomatoes (crushing them by hand as you add them) and the dried oregano. Stir well to combine.
  3. Bring the sauce to a bare simmer. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to deepen.
  4. Remove the lid, add the salt, and continue to simmer uncovered for another 15 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.
  5. Stir in the fresh basil just before serving. Taste and adjust salt as needed. Serve over your favorite pasta.
